1) What were the major developments in the educator’s personal life? Growing up, education, family (if it impacted him/her greatly), teaching/administration career, major accomplishments/awards, is he/she still alive, does he have a website/twitter?
2) What does he/she stand for? What are the major tenets of his/her philosophy? If you could sit him/her down and tell him/her to list the five most important beliefs that he/she has, what would they be? How did he/she come to this belief(s): personal tragedy, in-depth research, experience in the classroom? 3) What impact has his/her beliefs had on education? What things take place in education in our nation, or in our classroom, or in teacher education, that are a direct result of this person’s work? What is this person’s legacy? What strategies, plans, practices and mentalities exist today in education because of the work of this individual? 4) Evaluate the effectiveness of this person’s stance. Do you (and your group) think he/she is accurate and effective or is he/she misguided in his/her beliefs? Why do you think this? How should his/her mentality be amended to be more effective? What specific ways have you seen his/her ideas be used effectively/ineffectively?
