Why are we doing this?
- Improve reading skills to understand the world better
- Win the arguments at the bon fire about which movie is the best
- Practice skills of seeing how “parts contribute to a whole”
How will we show what we know and can do?
Create a product that answers the question, "What is the most effective way for authors to tell a story?" After reading a new story on summative day, evaluate how and why the author of that story told the tale better or worse than the authors of Beowulf and of your self-chosen novel. This product can be in any format that accomplishes the task and shows your proficiency in four specific areas: literal reading comprehension of all three texts, analysis of author's craft in each text, demonstration of newly learned words, and use of effective grammar to clearly express an idea. How do we practice the skills we need to create the final product?
Below is a link to the "playlist" for each of the skills you will need for your final product. Here is a video to explain how to navigate the list.
