AP Test Specifics
The test will consist of 45 multiple choice questions that ask you to analyze texts. Also, you will have to write three essays: the first and second ask you to read a passage and discuss how the author used a variety of literary devices to create meaning in the passage; the third essay will provide you with a topic common in literature (such as time or scenes of violence), provide you a list of possible texts to choose from, and ask you to use a text of literary merit from that list to discuss the aforementioned topic. You will be thoroughly prepared for it and will do very well.

Here are a few options for some online practice
1) Go to mel.org. At this website, click on the "Tests and Tutorials" at the top left corner of the page. Then, click new user and register. I would suggest using your blackboard login name and password to remember it easily. Then, click "College Preparation" then "AP Preparation." Click on either of the "AP Literature and Composition" links. Here, you can add tests to "My Center" so that you can do them later at your convenience. I would suggest doing this to make them easier to access in the future. After adding all of these tests to "My Center," click on "My Center" at the top right of the page. Pick a test, click "Start" and read all of the directions. It may be challenging to read this text and answer the questions logistically; my suggestions is to copy/paste the text into a word document and keep it up so that you can reference it more easily when answering questions. When you finish, print the page that shows your final score to turn in. Then, lather, rinse and repeat with the other sections on your own at home for additional practice. If you are having "licensing" problems, use the first letter of your last name and 12 random letters to use as your "license"
2) Go to sparknotes.com. At this website, click new user and register. I would suggest using your blackboard login name and password to remember it easily. Then, click "Test Prep" at the top right. Then, scroll down and under the "AP Subject Tests" heading, click "English Literature." Click on the "AP English Literature" link. Click "Start Test." Pick a test, click "Start" and read all of the directions. The site will ask you for your email. If you want to, put in your real email address. If not, make up a fake address. When you finish, print the page that shows your final score to turn in. Then, lather, rinse and repeat with the other sections on your own at home for additional practice.
